Coach Dee Davis begins her second season as the head coach of the Princeton Girls Basketball program. Last season, the Lady Vikings finished with a 23-4 overall record. Princeton were co-Greater Miami Conference Championships, and won the District Tournament.
In her first season, Coach Davis oversaw two players who went on to play women’s basketball at the collegiate level, and four players received conference, district, and/or all state honors.
Davis was named the Greater Miami Conference and District Coach of the Year.
A 2003 Princeton graduate, she became the first ever female at the time to be named a McDonald’s All-American.
Davis went on to play for Vanderbilt University where she had an extremely successful career. After graduating from college, Dee was drafted to the W.N.B.A. Houston Comets. After leaving Houston, Dee would go on to play in training camps in Seattle and San Antonio, in addition to playing internationally in Sarajevo Bosnia.
In 2013, Dee was inducted into the Princeton Athletic Hall of Fame.
After retiring from basketball, Dee didn't fully hang up her sneakers. Instead, she began her career as a Varsity Basketball Coach, where she has successfully developed players who have gone on to have thriving collegiate basketball careers.
When not on the court Dee Davis can be found attending speaking engagements and organizing community events to benefit the city's youth.
