Ken Powell

Coach Ken Powell begins his fourth season as the Varsity Wrestling Coach, and 16th season overall.

Coach Powell, Princeton (Class of 1989) where his storied career started under the tutelage of legendary Coach Dan Moody.

A four-year varsity letterman, Powell was a four-time all- Greater Miami Conference performer. During the 1988 and 1989 seasons, he was a two-time conference champion, received all-City honors both years, and won the Sectional and District Championships in each season. Powell placed fourth overall at State in '88, and was State Runner Up in 1989.

Powell continued his wrestling career at SUNY Potsdam before enlisting in the United States Air Force where he served our country from 1991-1997. He began his coaching career at Fairfield High School under Ohio High School Wrestling Hall of Famer, Coach Ron Masanek. At Fairfield, Powell served as Assistant Varsity and Head Freshman Coach from 2001-2012.

In addition to wrestling, he served as an Assistant Football Coach and Track & Field Coach from 2006-2011. Powell joined Coach Larry Cox and the Firebirds staff as an Assistant Coach in 2011. 

Coach is honored and ecstatic to continue his coaching career and looking forward to a successful future for Princeton Wrestling.
