2019 Varsity Football Milford Recap

The Princeton football team opened up the 2019 season with a 38-7 win over the Milford Eagles on Friday, August 30th at Milford High School.

The Vikings scored 24 - fourth quarter points to secure the win. Princeton got on the board first late in the second quarter with a 1-yard touchdown run by Darrion Henry. Michael Everson's PAT was good.

Princeton jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the beginning of the third quarter when MyJaden Horton connected with DeAngelo Foster for a 34-yard touchdown strike. Everson connected on his PAT.

Milford responded with a touchdown of their own, but the explosive offense by the Vikings would extend the lead back up to 14 points after Dorian Durham connected with Sterling Berkhalter for 64 yards. Everson PAT was good.

Senior James Price had a very strong night rushing the ball for Princeton. Price rushed for 109 yards on 12 carries, including a 38-yard score to extend the lead 28-7 midway through the fourth quarter.

Everson connected on a 32-yard field goal, and Christian Kilgus-Dixon closed the door in the final minutes with a 22-yard fumble recovery score. Hayden Cobbs PAT was good.

Princeton's defense limited the Eagles to just 198 total yards of offense and forced 6 turnovers. Kevin Suttles recorded 4 solo tackles and 1 interception, and Juan Jarrett had 3 solo tacks, 4 assists, and 1 interception.

Jaheim Thomas finished the night with 5 total tackles and 1 interception.

Offensively, Princeton had 367 total yards and 251 rushing yards in the game. Berkhalter led the receivers with 3 catches for 69 yards and a touchdown.

Quarterback Horton rushed for 76 yards on 13 attempts and tossed for 52 yards and a touchdown.

The Vikings will host the Withrow Tigers in their home opener on Friday, September 6th at Mancuso Field at Viking Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM.
