Princeton Athletics Department named Gino McGowens as the next Varsity Baseball Coach.
Most recently McGowens led the Purcell Marian baseball team as the Varsity Head Coach and in 2021 led them to their first winning season in 18 years.
During his time at Purcell Marian he had winning seasons in two out of three years at Purcell Marian. Because of his success developing the student-athletes in his program, McGowens was voted the Miami Valley Conference Co-Coach of the year in 2023 in the
Scarlet Division. He was also voted the Southwest Ohio Baseball Coaches Coach of the Year in Division III in 2023.
He has coached at the Reds Youth Academy in the RBI Program (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) for six years, leading the Reds 14 -16U National Team.
Prior to Purcell Marian, McGowens was the Varsity Lead Assistant Coach at Clark Montessori in 2019 and helped develop individuals on and off the field.
McGowens was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from the Union Institute & University with a degree in Organizational Leadership. Having a background in leadership has allowed McGowens to build genuine relationships with his student-athletes as well as build a tremendous staff that is student-athlete centered.
He is an active member of multiple advisory boards in the Cincinnati Area. He enjoys playing baseball, golf, reading and spending time with his wife, Deirdre, and adult children, Ronicole, Brandon, Cameron, and Cori.
