The Princeton girls varsity basketball team opened up league play on the road against the Mason Comets on Wednesday, November 30th. Despite taking an early 18-9 first quarter lead, the Lady Vikings came up short, falling by a final score of 54-48. Princeton drops to 1-1 overall, and 0-1 in the Greater Miami Conference.
Sole' Williams led the team with 15 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the floor, including two of the team's five made three-pointers in the game.
Princeton made 18 field goals on 6 assists, finishing the game shooting 30 percent.Â
Kemari'ah Gerton and Kali Fortson added 9 points each. Fortson finished with a game-high 10 rebounds. It marked her second straight game with 10 plus rebounds.
Kesha Francisco led all scorers off the bench with 5 points on 2-of-4 shooting.
Mason was limited to 11-of-44 shooting from the floor, but made 26 free throws in the game. The Lady Vikings defense forced 14 turnovers, recorded 8 steals, and 4 block shots.
Dede Carter-Hartley and Forston each had 2 block shots. Carter-Hartley added 5 points and 3 rebounds.
