Princeton Football Moves to 3-0 on the Season

The Princeton Vikings football team improved to 3-0 on the season after defeating Dublin Coffman High School 44-14 on Friday, September 3rd.

Princeton scored 34 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a commanding 34-7 lead at the half.

Maurice Borden scored the first touchdown on the night with a 68 yard rush. It was quickly followed up by Riley Woods' 61-yard punt return (his second of the season).

TJ Engleman connected with Rodney Harris Jr. down the sideline for a 35 yard touchdown reception. Harris Jr. finished the game with 2 catches for 38 yards.

In the final minute of the first half, TJ Engleman found Jaleel Engleman for a 35-yard touchdown strike.

Offensively, the Vikings accumulated 407 total yards. In the first three games of the season, Princeton leads the Greater Miami Conference with 497 yards per game, and 55.0 points per game.
 
Sophomore TJ Engleman passed for 100 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for 90 yards and a score. On the season, Engleman has passed for 8 touchdowns and rushed for 7 touchdowns.

Emoni Steele led the rushing attack with 105 yards on 7 carries. He scored a 9-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Princeton rushed for 307 yards on 27 carries.

Cole Walker scored the final three points for Princeton with a 30-yard field goal. Walker finished the night with 8 points, 5-of-6 on extra point attempts and 1-for-1 on field goal attempts. He currently leads the GMC with 27 points.
 
Defensively, Princeton limited Dublin Coffman to 230 total yards of offense, including 48 rushing yards. Dublin Coffman was just 3-for-11 on third down conversions. The Vikings' rushing defense currently leads the conference with -5.3 yards per game.

The Vikings pressure had 4 sacks (Mi'Quise Humphrey-Grace, Ryeheim Warren, Jiaehr Short, and Vince McQueen III). Caleb Clark-Glover, Chaz Cole, and Dante Flanigan each finished the game with 5 total tackles. Princeton had eight players with 2 or more solo tackles.

Justin Wimpye and Gary Toran each had an interception.

Princeton returns to league-play on Friday, September 10th as they travel to Lakota West High School.
