Football Improves to 2-0 on the Season

The Princeton varsity football team improved to 2-0 on the season after a 63-21 win at Loveland High School on Saturday, August 28th.

The Vikings offense has generated 121 total points over the first two games of the season.

Princeton scored 28 points in the first two quarters of the game.

Sophomore TJ Engleman continued his impressive start to the season. Engleman was 8-of-10 passing for 199 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also rushed for 135 yards on 8 carries and 4 touchdowns.

TJ now has 6 passing touchdowns and 6 rushing touchdowns to start the season.

Princeton's offense accumulated 357 total yards.

Isaiah Myers finished the game with 83 receiving yards on 3 receptions and a touchdown. Jaleel Engleman had 1 catch for 47 yards and a touchdown.

Maurice Borden rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, the Vikings limited Loveland to 218 total yards and forced 2 turnovers.

Jaylon Stoker and AJ Nunley led the team with 8 total tackles. Mi'Quise Humphrey-Grace was recorded with 2.5 sacks and 7 total tackles. Princeton's defensive pressure finished with 7 sacks in the game.

Justin Wimpye had an interception, and Kavan Kwarteng and De'Andre Rutherford were each credited with a forced fumble. PJ Nelson recovered one of the fumbles for the Princeton takeaway.

The Vikings' special team had a strong performance in the win. Riley Woods had a punt return for a touchdown, and Jaleel Engleman had a 78 yard kick-off return for a touchdown.

Kicker Cole Walker was 9-for-9 on extra points and had a 35.0 punt average.
