Lady Vikings Basketball Advance to District Finals!

The Princeton Lady Vikings basketball team defeated Monroe High School 62-29 in the District Semi-Finals at Lakota East High School on Monday, February 22nd. Princeton improves to 15-7 overall on the season. 

Coach Phillips leads the Lady Vikings to her 10th District Finals appearance, and its' the program's first appearance since the 2014 State Championship season.

After a 10-6 lead after the first quarter, Princeton built a 24-4 advantage in the second half to lead 34-10 at the half. 

Princeton's scoring was led by Dede Carter-Hartley with 14 points and 7 rebounds. It is her second consecutive game reaching double-digit scoring, and her 10th time during the season. Also reaching double-digits in scoring was Madison Roshelle with 11 points, marking her third straight game scoring in double-digits. On the season, she is averaging 13.4 points per game and has reached double digits 14 times this year.

As a team, Princeton had 12 different players score in the game. The Lady Vikings shot 40 percent from the floor, converting 24 field goals on 12 assists.

La"Sonja Hill led the team with 3 assists and 5 steals. 

Defensively, Princeton limited the Hornets to 26 percent shooting from the floor. Princeton won the battle on the boards, 35-24, and forced 18 turnovers.

Princeton's bench scored 27 points in the game.

The Lady Vikings advance to the District Finals and will play Wayne High School on Saturday, February 27th.
