The Princeton boys varsity basketball team defeated the Oak Hills Highlanders 67-52 on Friday, December 3rd at Princeton High School. The Vikings improve to 1-1 overall, and 1-0 in the Greater Miami Conference.
Princeton jumped out to a 22-first quarter scoring performance, and followed it up by scoring 25 points in the second quarter. The Vikings made 17 field goals on 10 assists.
Riley Woods scored 13 of his team-high 17 points in the first half. Woods added 4 assists and 2 steals in the game.
The Vikings knocked down 7-of-11 three-pointers in the first half. Kaden Stephens scored 9 points going 3-of-3 from behind the arc in the second quarter.
In the first half, Princeton scored 16 points off 9 forced turnovers. Rodney Harris led the team with 3 steals and 5 assists. He also scored 7 points and a game-high 6 rebounds.
Princeton extended its largest lead of the game (20 points) in the fourth quarter.Â
Isaiah Myers scored 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 block shot. Bowen Hardman finished with 11 points.
The Vikings finished the night shooting 68 percent from the floor, and 10-of-12 from the free throw line.
Jaxon Schreiber of Oak Hills led the Highlanders with 19 points.Â
