Lady Vikings Defeat Lakota West in GMC Opener 52-42

The Princeton girls varsity basketball team defeated Lakota West 52-42 on Wednesday, December 1st at Lakota West High School. The Vikings are now 3-0 overall, and 1-0 in the Greater Miami Conference.

Princeton erased a four point deficit to outscore Lakota West 14-5 in the second quarter. Leading 26-21 at the half, the Vikings went on a 16-8 run to end the third quarter.

Sole Williams led all scorers with 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the floor. She added 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals in the win.
 
Also scoring double digits was Dede Carter-Hartley, finishing with 13 points and a game high 7 rebounds.

The Vikings made 20 field goals on 11 assists to finish the game shooting 44 percent from the floor. 

Margo Abrams scored 9 points and 5 rebounds, and LaSonja Hill added 5 points.

Princeton's bench outscored Lakota West 7-5. Natalie Williams scored all seven points, including knocking down two 3-pointers.

Leading the way defensively was LaSonja Hill with a game-high 4 steals. As a team, Princeton forced 16 turnovers and 10 steals.

Lakota West finished the game shooting 30 percent from the floor.

The Vikings (3-0) return to action on Saturday, December 4th at Middletown.
