Princeton Football Moves to 4-1

The Princeton Vikings football team improved to 4-1 on the season after defeating the Middletown Middies 56-24 on Friday, September 25th.

The Vikings accumulated 466 total yards of offense. Junior quarterback Mekhi Lynn passed for 209 yards and 3 touchdowns. Lynn rushed for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Senior Ari Turner led the ground game with 145 yards rushing on 20 attempts. Ty Tanks rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown.

Princeton's wide receivers caught 7 passes for 207 total yards. DeAngelo Foster led the receiving core with 66 total yards. Foster had a 40-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. Rodney Harris Jr. finished with 59 total receiving yards, including a 54-yard touchdown reception. He currently ranks second in the conference with 259 receiving yards.

Gabe Behymer caught a 38-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.

 

Defensively, Deylin White got the Vikings scoring started with a 25-yard interception return for a touchdown in the first minutes of the game. White also had another interception in the game.

The Vikings limited the Middies to 136 total yards of offense, and held the opposition to just 1-of-9 on third down conversions.

LeRoy Bowers returned a 77-yard punt to the end zone is the second quarter. Bowers finished the game with 5 total tackles. Justin Wimpye led the team with 4 solo tackles, and Qai Williams recorded a game-high 2 sacks. John Harris finished the game with 5 total tackles, and he currently leads the G.M.C. with 50 total tackles on the season.

On the season, Princeton leads the Greater Miami Conference with 386 yards per game. Lynn ranks atop of the conference with 998 passing yards and 12 touchdowns.

Princeton travels to Fairfield High School (1-4) on Friday, October 2nd
