Vikings Fall in OT to Firebirds, 81-71

The Princeton boys' basketball team lost to the Lakota West Firebirds in overtime, 81-71 on Friday, February 28th at Hamilton High School. The Vikings finish the season with a 17-8 overall record.

Princeton erased a 21-15 first quarter deficit by outscoring Lakota West 28-12 in the second quarter. 

Princeton knocked down 10-of-13 field goals in the second quarter and were plus 8 points off turnovers. Senior Kahlil Davis scored 12 of his team-high 22 points in the second quarter. 

The Vikings led 40-33 at the half.

In the second half, Lakota West outscored Princeton 34-24. The Firebirds knocked down 6-of-8 three point shots. In the closing seconds of regulation, Nathan Dudukovich connected on a corner three-pointer to tie the game. Dudukovich finished the game 5-of-9 from behind the arc.

Princeton's Deairius Randle scored 12 of his 21 points in the second half. He also surpassed the 1,000 career points during the Vikings' postseason run.

The Firebirds would go on to outscore the Vikings 14-4 in the overtime period to advance to the District Finals.

Princeton finished the game shooting 49 percent from the floor, 30 percent from behind the arc, and 69 percent from the free-throw line. Lakota West finished the game shooting 54 percent from the floor, and 54 percent from behind the arc (14-of-26).
