The Princeton Lady Vikings basketball team lost to the Walnut Hills Eagles 74-59 on Monday, February 24th in the Southwest Sectional Tournament at Lakota East High School. Princeton finishes the season with a 19-5 overall record.
Walnut Hills jumped out to a 22-12 first quarter lead, and extended their lead to 16 points at the half (43-27). The Eagles knocked down 15-of-29 from the field, and connected on 5-three pointers. Princeton finished the first half shooting 39 percent from the floor.
Senior Ashley Davis led the Lady Vikings with 14 points. Princeton outscored Walnut Hills 32-31 in the second half, and shot 42 percent from the floor.
Freshman Sole Williams finished the game with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Junior Madison Roshelle added 12 points off the bench.
The Eagles were led by Sean Kelly Darks' 24 points. Walnut Hills finished the game with four players in double-digit scoring, and ended the game shooting 49 percent from the floor and 47 percent from behind the arc.
Princeton won the battle of the boards, 31-25. The team knocked down 20-of-25 free throws, and scored 10 points off the Eagles' turnovers.
