Lady Vikings Basketball Closes Out Regular Season with 66-44 Win at Middletown

The Princeton Lady Vikings basketball team closed out the regular season with a 66-44 win over the Middletown Middies on Saturday, February 8th at Middletown High School. The Lady Vikings finish the regular season in second place in the league standings with a 18-4 overall record, and 14-2 mark in the Greater Miami Conference.

Princeton jumped out in front early, leading Middletown 25-8 after the first quarter of play. The Lady Vikings would go on to outscore the Middies 41-36 in the final three quarters.

Freshman Sole Williams led the offense with 17 points. She knocked down a pair of three-pointers and finished 7-of-8 from the free throw line.

Joining Williams in double digit scoring was freshman LaSonja Hill with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor. Hill knocked down 3-three pointers and added 4 assists and 3 rebounds.

As a team, Princeton shot 6-of-15 from behind the arc.

Senior Willow White scored 8 points and 5 assists, and freshman Diawna Carter-Hartley added 8 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Vikings outrebounded the Middies 33-25, and forced Middletown into 18 turnovers.

Olivia Wells led the scoring for Middletown with 19 points.

Princeton will turn their attention to the winner of Harrison/Wilmington match up as the Lady Vikings will begin its' tournament run on Tuesday, February 18th at 6:00 PM at Lakota East High School.
