Boys Basketball: Princeton 81, Winton Woods 46

The Princeton boys varsity basketball team defeated Winton Woods 81-46 on Tuesday, December 29th. The Vikings improve to 2-2 overall on the season.

The Vikings jumped out to a 18-3 first quarter lead as the defense forced 12 turnovers and had 6 steals. Princeton's offense made 6-of-16 field goals, and knocked down 4 three-pointers.

Princeton extended its lead to 20 points in the closing seconds of the first half. Bowen Hardman scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the first half. He finished the game shooting 7-of-18 from the floor, and knocked down 5 three pointers.

The Vikings success continued in the third quarter. Princeton had a balance attack with six different players scoring in the 33-point third quarter. As a team, the Vikings made 13-of-17 field goals on 10 assists. Princeton knocked down 6-of-10 three pointers.

Riley Woods was perfect from the field, finishing the game with 13 points off the bench on 5-of-5 shooting. The Vikings built their largest lead (41 points) mid-way through the fourth quarter of play.
 
Offensively, Princeton had 11-different players score in the game. Rodney Harris and Greg Johnson each scored 11 points. The bench scored 36 points in the game.

The Vikings finished the game shooting 49.2 percent (32-65) from the floor, and 41.4 percent (12-29) from behind the arc.

Defensively, Princeton forced 27 turnovers and had 15 steals. Ari Turner led the team with 4 steals. 

Through the first four games, Princeton's defense ranks fourth in the league with 40 steals. 

Princeton begins the 2021 year with a home game versus Lakota East on Saturday, January 2nd at 6:30 PM.
