Princeton scored 28 straight points and pulled away for a win at Fairfield 40-23 on Friday night.
Two of the scores during that stretch came from the defense.
Ari Turner, who ran 12 times for 159 yards, opened the scoring. The Indians kicked a field goal to make it 7-3 after one quarter.
But then the Vikings took off. Lamont Jackson found the end zone on a 27-yard pass from Mekhi Lynn. Leroy Bowers returned a fumble 70 yards for a 21-3 lead. Lynn hit Rodney Harris Jr. for a 36-yard score and a 28-3 halftime lead. Then a Jamar Mathews 63-yard interception return was the nail in the coffin.
The Vikings defense added a safety late to move to 5-1 on the season.
