VIDEO: Paris Johnson, Jr. Selected for All-American Bowl

On January 4, 2020, Princeton High School Offensive Tackle Paris Johnson, Jr. will play in the most elite, most-watched, high school sporting event in the country – The All-American Bowl.

The All-American Bowl, now celebrating its 20th anniversary, has established itself as the nation's premier high school all-star game.  The bowl game aims to introduce the nation to the next generation of their favorite football stars. The selection process is rigorous and begins when the nation's top prospects enter high school. All-Americans are selected for their talent, their skill-set, and their work ethic – both on and off the field.

"For many, playing in the All-American Bowl is the first step to becoming a household name," All-American Bowl Tour Marketing Coordinator Jared Kossover said as he presented Johnson with his official All-American jersey. "Of the one million high school football players across the country, only the top 100 receive an invitation to play in this elite sporting event. For Paris, it all starts here."

Throughout his high school career, Johnson has demonstrated his commitment to the game of football and has racked up some impressive accolades, including being a five-star recruit committed to The Ohio State University, ranked the number one player in the state, and the number one Offensive Tackle in the nation.

Johnson follows in the footsteps of football's finest – Tim Tebow, Andrew Luck, and Adrian Peterson just to name a few previous All-American Bowl players. This is an honor and privilege that he doesn't take lightly.

"It's a blessing for me to have this opportunity and to be one of the hundred players selected," he said. "I have to thank my teammates for always pushing me. This is the best group I've ever been around, especially the people on the offensive line, who are the best in the state. I'm very grateful for that. I'd like to thank the coaches for continuing to cultivate my skill-set and allowing me to continue to grow and succeed. Most of all, I'd like to thank my family and friends, who have always been there from the beginning and are seeing me through the ups and downs. You always helped me stay the course to achieve my dreams and my goals."

Tune in to NBC on Jan. 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. EST to watch Paris Johnson, Jr. take the field at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas in front of 25,000 spectators. Paris was featured on a special hour-long preview show that aired on December 28th on NBC.

We are so proud of Paris for representing Princeton City School District in such a positive light, on and off the field. Good luck, Paris, and know that VikeNation is cheering you on!
